Replacement cost
Frequently light failure does not only increase your replacement cost, but also add to your hassle. But now you can realize your dream- just one light in one life when you choose LEDs.
Incandescent lamps are usually manufactured to have a life span of 750 hours or 1,000 hours. Whereas the rate life of a CFL lamp ranges from 8 to 15 times of incandescent. CFLs typically have rated life span of 6,000 to 15,000 hours. But the problem is, frequently turning on or off will shorten a CFL lamp’s life expectation. In the case of a 5-minute on/off cycle, the life span of a CFL will shorten to “close to that of incandescent light bulbs”.
LEDs have a general life expectancy of 50 000 hrs. If you use your lights for 10 hours a day, this should be 13.7 yrs. But free from similar troubles of incandescent lamps and CFL lamps.
